Cloudways Free Trial in India — 3 Days Free, No Card Required
Every new Cloudways account, including signups from India, gets a 3-day free trial automatically. You do not need to enter a credit card to start. This page covers what the trial actually includes, how it ends, and how to stretch it into a real testing window using a promo code.
What Is in the 3-Day Trial
- Full access to the Cloudways Platform dashboard.
- Launch one server (any provider — DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS, GCP).
- Install one application (WordPress, Magento, Laravel, custom PHP, etc.).
- SSH and SFTP access to test deployment.
- Built-in caching (Varnish, Redis, Memcached) — same as paid.
What is not included: free SSL via Let's Encrypt requires a paid account, and you cannot whitelabel or use the staging-cloning feature on trial.
How to Sign Up for the Trial Without a Card
- Go to Cloudways signup.
- Enter name, email, password — no card field appears for trial.
- (Optional but recommended) click Have a Promo Code? and enter THATMY30 or CLOUDS2022. The code stays on your account and applies the moment you upgrade.
- Verify the email link.
- Launch a server. WordPress on DO Bangalore 1 GB is the most common choice for Indian bloggers.
Why 3 Days Is Not Enough — and How to Extend
Three days is enough to look at the dashboard and run TTFB tests. It is not enough to migrate a production site, do staging testing, and run a full week of analytics. Here is how to convert the trial into 1–2 months of real testing without committing long-term:
Option A — THATMY30 (Recommended for Most)
Apply THATMY30 on signup. When the 3-day trial ends, add a card and let the account convert. You will be billed 30% off the DO Bangalore 1 GB plan, i.e. ~₹647/mo for 3 months instead of ₹924. If after a week you do not want to continue, destroy the server — billing stops immediately.
Option B — CLOUDS2022 ($30 Free Credit)
Apply CLOUDS2022 on signup. After the trial, ₹2520 (~$30) lands in your Funds balance. On a ₹924/mo plan that covers roughly 3 months of free hosting. You still need to enter a card (Cloudways requires a verified card on every paid account), but the card is not charged until the credit is exhausted.
How the Trial Ends
- On day 3, Cloudways pauses the server and prompts you to add a card.
- If you add a card and continue, the discount/credit from your promo code applies on the first invoice.
- If you do not add a card within 7 more days, the server and data are deleted permanently.

Common Questions
Do I get a refund if I cancel after the trial? Cloudways is pay-as-you-go, billed monthly in arrears. There is nothing to refund — destroy the server and billing stops. Any unused funds (CLOUDS2022 credit) remain on the account in case you return.
Can I extend the 3-day trial directly? Sometimes Cloudways live chat will extend by another 3 days if you tell them you are still evaluating. It is at their discretion, not guaranteed.
Is the trial available from India? Yes — there is no geographic restriction.
